How to plan a trip to the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic has something for everyone, and we want to make sure you plan the best trip for you and your fellow travelers. To make this the trip of a lifetime, follow these steps when planning your trip.
1. Best time to visit
Plan your travel around the best times to visit the Dominican Republic. Do not travel to the Dominican Republic from July to October. It's hurricane season, and you won't be able to enjoy your trip as much with the constant threat of dangerous weather. The best time to visit is November to June, except during busy holiday travel periods.
2. Book a flight
Flights will be more expensive in peak seasons (November - January). We recommend checking several airlines and third-party booking sites to find great deals.
Travel hack: Search for flights in an incognito browser. Airlines will increase their prices if they see you browsing.
3. Book a hotel
There are several beach-front resorts you can choose from or local hotels in town. If you’re looking for something unique, check Airbnb or VRBO. You may even find a treehouse, like this one!
4. Check for travel restrictions
As of November 2021, non-U.S. citizens need to be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination. Vaccinated U.S citizens need to show proof of vaccination and have a negative test three days before a flight. Non-vaccinated U.S citizens need to provide proof of a negative COVID test one day before a flight. Please double-check travel restrictions that are in place for the period of your trip.
